In the figure shown, what is the value of X?

1. QR=RS

2. ST=TU
Neither statement alone is sufficient to determine the value of x.
Here's an efficient way to evaluate the two statements combined:

1. Plug in angle measurements that satisfy the rules of geometry and the conditions given in the two statements.
2. Determine the value of x.
3. Plug in different angle measurements that satisfy the rules of geometry and the conditions given in the two statements.
3. Determine the value of x.

If the value of x STAYS THE SAME, then the two statements combined are SUFFICIENT.
If the value of x CHANGES, then the two statements combined are INSUFFICIENT.

The figures below show two sets of angle measurements that satisfy both the rules of geometry and the conditions given in the two statements:

In each case, x=45. Thus, when the two statements are combined, we know that x=45.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is C.
