GMAT skew

by Maxfwa » Wed Oct 07, 2009 8:51 pm
Hi all,

Just sat the Gmat and got 740, with 51 in verbal and 42 in quant. I'm happy with the overall score, but aware that the quant is low. I'm applying to INSEAD and London BS.

My question is, does a high verbal score compensate for the comparitively low quant score. I'm not going to sit it again anyway, but I'm looking for some reassurance that a 42 on the quant will not eliminate me as a cadidate.

As far as the rest of the application goes, I have 3 years work experience - 1 year as a lawyer and 2 at a good management consulting firm, a law degree with a decent academic record from a top school in Australia, but not that many co-curriculars - consulting firms don't leave you with that much time.

Would appreciate any responses

Hi Max,

The MBA admissions does not to a premium on your verbal GMAT score so I would not take the GMAT again. It's much more important to focus on your essays.
