A: Based on records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe that they used to dress [Based on records from ancient Athens modifies each year - hence incorrect]
B: Based on records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women had collaborated to weave a new woolen robe with which to dress [Based on records from ancient Athens modifies each year - hence incorrect]
C: According to records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe that they used to dress [According to records, records don't have an opinion - incorrect]
D: Records from ancient Athens indicate that each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe with which they dressed
E: Records from ancient Athens indicate each year young Athenian women had collaborated to weave a new woolen robe for dressing

Its down to D and E, in GMAT it is preferred to follow thinking words such as indicate, belief, etc with That .. therefore D wins. Moreover, indicate each year sounds unidiomatic.

A: Based on records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe that they used to dress
modification error : years were not based on records
llelism error : after and the s/c uses a that and therefore we need one more THAT earlier in the s/c to maintain llelism

B: Based on records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women had collaborated to weave a new woolen robe with which to dress
same as A

C: According to records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe that they used to dress
llelism issue and records can indicate smething but can not say anything

D: Records from ancient Athens indicate that each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe with which they dressed
correct

E: Records from ancient Athens indicate each year young Athenian women had collaborated to weave a new woolen robe for dressing
does not maintain llelism

OA D

I thought the answer was C. Please explain. Thanks!

C: According to records from ancient Athens, each year young Athenian women collaborated to weave a new woolen robe that they used to dress

in the s/c check the hihlighted word THAT , since here is a that after and ----> indicates there is some kind of parallelism in s/c and therefore one needs one more that in s/c . now the intended meaning of s/c is that the records want to tell us two things
only option D brings the parallelism issue in a correct manner
Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working
