MBA a good option for me ???

by aksacc » Fri Jun 17, 2011 2:26 pm
HI

I am trying to figure out if MBA is a good option for me, I live in AZ working as a hardware engineer in a fortune 500 company, i am 29 yr old with masters in electrical engineering and 5 yr of industry exp., i am planing to go for part time MBA at thunderbird, and 70% of my fee will be paid by my company. It sounds like a very good offer but when i think of my next 2 yrs being really tough with school and work, it makes me think is it really worth ... i am having cold feet i guess .. plz help me decide

thanks

I would recommend you assessing the time commitment/reward by attending an Thunderbird part-time information session and speaking with people at your company who have completed the program.

You could also quantitatively analyze the decision by for example determining if people have received pay raises at your company. Overall, though if your company is paying for 70% I think you might as well start the program because the business perspective will be very helpful. If the time commitment is too great you would still have the knowledge and could always continue at a later date.
