volume

a swimming pool is 200 ft long and 60 ft wide. it is 2ft deep at the shallow end of the length and is 6 ft deep at the dep end of the length. find the volume of the water contain in it.

200*60*4*7.5(in gallons) =3,60,000 gallons of water .What's the OA ?


PS- Average depth is calculated by adding the depth at the shallow end to the depth at the deep end and dividing by 2

Assuming a constant slope from the shallow end to the deep end, we can conclude that the pool has an average depth of 4 ft.
So, the volume = (200)(60)(4) = 48,000 cubic feet.
