Need Help

by cgt2k1 » Mon May 24, 2010 7:26 pm
Hi,

I need some assistance in determining which B schools to apply for in the US for part time programs

Below is my profile

BE - Mumbai University (1st class throughout)
MS - University of Southern California (GPA 3.6)
GMAT - will probably land up between 600-650

Work Ex - By the time I apply to an MBA program I would have around 9-10 years all in IT

Work Ex details

2003 - Desktop Support at a manufacturing company in California

2004-2006 - Investment Management Bank 1,NY - IT Development as a consultant

2007-2009 - Investment Management Bank 2,NY - Production Support Lead and mentor of India and US team

2009-current - Investment Management Bank 3,NY - Dev Lead - Lead 4 people . Mentored the Singapore team and got entrusted with the responsibility of managing the application when the manager was away.

Also throughout my professional career in the banking industry I was also continuously dealing with clients and business users and answering their calls and teaching them on how to work with the application.I have also worked across several different sectors within the financial services industry

Extra Curr/Hobbies/Community Work

Passed Elementary and Intermediate painting exams

Have won painting competitions throughout my child hood

Have taught Math for 5 sessions at Brooklyn ,NY at a school recently

Planning to distribute food as part of a eliminate hunger drive in Bronx,NY

Planning to get involved further in teaching at schools

I will probably have around 2 years of community service before I apply

Some more details - Have been in the US for the past 7 years and want to apply to a B school by 2012 or 2013

The programs I want to target are general management and strategy as I want to move out of IT .

Realistically speaking what are my choices for B schools in the US.
I think the top 10 are a long shot but what abt 10-20 or 20-30
I am also open to Indian ,Chinese and Singaporean schools (eg INSEAD,Nanyang,HK univs) and wont mind moving back as I feel I have reached a level of maturity as an IT guy.

All help is appreciated.
