hi stacy

I have done my bachelors in commerce in one of the top 5 commerce colleges in India.

My 10th grade I scored 80%
11th grade - 65%
12th grade-80%
The average percentage of my Bachelors in commerce is 55%
I am doing my masters in commerce.
Could you pl convert my scores to GPA.

For admission to universities on rolling basis is it best to give my GMAT and TOEFL in NOVEMBER(I want to apply for fall 2007)

With regards to when to take the GMAT--I would recommend before October if you can. Most MBA programs open up their first round of applications by mid-Oct.

& GMAT is the first step.

you said you re doing MCom ...so, that means you are actually studying these days///?

is it so urgent? i mean do you really want to make it on class2009 (ie for fall 2007 admit.?)

if yes: then you have to hurry

if no: then i can suggest a better plan.

try to get at least a first class 60%+ in your Masters.

as for rolling ....goes.
Some schools consider applications on a rolling basis and some do not.

for example: Columbia's rolling sytem...Wharton has not.
Wharton will start reviewing apps only when the deadline is over whereas Columbia has started reviewing applications from Aug 16 even though the deadline is Oct 12, 2006.

i deliberately, did not discuss about GPA issue.

In short: i meant: DONT BOTHER.

most of the time ( as i know...??___)
b-schools accept your score as it is, if you tell them 'your under-grad college dd not used the GPA method for errr grading students.
they will accept your percentage marks or whatever scoring system you have as it is.

& if they dont , if they are reluctant, then i think they hire scoring experts (they call it "credential evaluating company" to convert your percentage marks into the numbers they want (ie GPA...)

some of them have formula..
some survey your college grading style (the rogour /strictness et al)
some go with relative grading system..

it goes complex & the bottle line is you better dont bother about that ....let bschool do the stats.

& even now you are not convinced :
then
Ok i ll throw some random figure :say 2.8 is your GPA.
tell me what you are going to do with that?

go for relative grading system:
where did you stand in you class?

eg>
a) 13th among class of 60
b) topper scored 72% & mine was 55%
these kinds of data may help you to know where you stand. & hence whats your GPA d be.
