Columbia GSB - Values good numbers

by vik123 » Sun Nov 23, 2008 7:49 pm
Hi

I have been told by a particular admissions consultant that Columbia looks for people with very good numbers (GPA, GMAT). His contention was that Columbia is trying to improve its rankings. Is this an opinion you share? Are there any schools which place a high importance on numbers?

Thanks,
Vikram

Dear Vikram,

All schools place a high importance on numbers. However, most schools do not place greater importance on GMAT/GPA than the other components to your application. All of these items are important and candidates are viewed holistically.

Good luck,
Lisa
