resulting from is not idiomatic. "Resulting in" is the correct usage
b) that creatures of the seabed were suffering because food supplies were dwindling, possibly as a result of an increase in

Ans. As a result of is idiomatic. dwindling is correctly modified by "as a result of ..."

c) that creatures of the seabed were suffering because of food supplies, which were dwindling possibly as a result of increasing

"as a result of increasing" is awkward

If you remove which, meaning gets affected hence its used as a restrictive modifier

d) creatures of the seabed that were suffering from food supplies that were dwindling, possibly resulting from an increase in

That is needed to introduce a clause

e) creatures of the seabed that were suffering because food supplies were dwindling, which possibly resulted from increasing

That is needed to introduce a clause

Also, which modifies an adj instead of a noun

resulted from is not idiomatic

I second the explanation from iamcste.

Also in A the problem is that the meaning of the sentence.
It says that food supplies possibly results from increase in temp..
which is wrong.

@iamcste

is "suffering from" or "suffering because" correct idiom?
