Please take a look at my profile.

Male/Pakistani
Gmat:750(50/41)
undergradute degree:textile engineering from a top university in Pakistan. CGPA:2.7/4 (i know this is very low).
considering to apply for fall 2010
At this time i have 2 years of work experienceand by the time of application i have 3 years of experience. working as a deputy manager in a top manufacturing unit .
Got 3 promotions in last 2yrs.
I have a great leadership experience with 9 maintenance teams work under me.
Other responsibilities include checking and monitoring machinery and maintenance staff, devolpinng & maintaining maintenance activities and budget for the maintenance departments, looking after ISO system application and recruiting skilled & non skilled labour for the departments.


Scholarship in Secondary school examination.
Involved in community service and also raised funds during earthquake in pakistan.
vice president of a technical society during final year in university.
my target schools are HBS, Stanford, LBS, Yale, MIT.
Or should i go for Insead, Duke, Malbourne business school, Lancaster, Australian gradute school of business?
Post MBA career in business managment with international focus.
I m aslo considering to go for a diploma focusing accounting, quantitative courses from an Australian university. what do you say? should i go for it or just continue with my job?
What are my chances to get into top program with this profile?

Dear yasir,

I think you have a competitive profile, but admissions is more than the numbers. So whether or not you have a shot greatly depends on how well you write your essays, how strong your recommendations are, and how you present yourself in your interviews. I think you should apply to any school you feel is a good match, but am a firm believer that everyone should apply to at least one safety type school (generally outside the top 30). All of the schools you list are highly competitive, top-ranked programs. Perhaps shorten that list and add a safety option to the mix?

thanks for reply. Also due to my low undergradute gpa should i take some quantitative courses or countinue with my job?

You could take some courses to demonstrate you can succeed in the classroom. However, your high GMAT demonstrates your have the ability. If you feel you have time to do well in a few courses while working, then that could be helpful. But I think showing progression in responsibility in your job and having strong professional examples is more critical for you at this point.
