What schools prioritize the GMAT?

by Pluvicreous » Mon Nov 17, 2008 3:14 pm
Some MBA schools prioritize the GMAT to a greater extent than others.
Harvard admissions officers state that they rank other items in the application package above the GMAT as have a few others.

My question is actually the reverse:
What top schools make the GMAT a greater, or even a top, priority in their applications evaluations?

I cant list out the b-schools who give GMAT more priority. From the others who weigh other parameters equally. There's some truth in your assumption but if you ask me,

GMAT weighs more and has greater priority than rest of the parameters considered in MBA admission. & this is valid I think everywhere. since it's a standardise test, it's the only one parameter that can be compared amongst the pool of applicants. Rest of all parameters are unique with each applicant and thus not comparable.

However, it's been observed that mediocre b-schools tend to prefer students with higher GMAT score (in order to push their intake students' ave. GMAT score higher) Top MBA programs/ elite bschools receive highly competitive applications and thus it goes beyond GMAT screening. ie. a good GMAT score doesn't affect your candidacy & thus doesn't remain a 'priority' in deciding. (that means ALL parameters play part in such case)
