Profile evaluation: former actor turned equity analyst

- was working actor for over a decade w/ part-time "day job" in trusts & estates (incl. fiduciary accounting, trust & estate administration, valuation work for estate & gift tax purposes, fiduciary & estate tax prep)
- equity analyst for past 2.5 years
- CFA charterholder - passed all 3 levels on first try

*Baseline* GMAT practice test score (before prep class):
680 (V48/Q34) - I expect to bring up Quant score considerably through prep class & practice

Yale undergrad - graduated cum laude with 3.7 GPA
Major: Comparative Lit (speak Spanish, French & some German) and Theater studies

Want to move from current mainstream equity research into asset management or research that incorporates ESG (environmental, social & governance) factors into investment process. Have served as vice chair of Sustainable Investing committee at NYSSA for a bit over a year.

Extracurricular: serve on advisory board for not-for-profit theater company and editorial board of NYSSA's quarterly journal

You are a tough one to assess because your profile is so unusual. I'll give it a shot, but assuming you raise your GMAT you do have a shot at the top schools. Your pluses are your academic record and CFA along with varied work experience. The negative is that you are more experienced than most of your classmates.

I believe Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford are stretch schools. Competitive programs: NYU, Yale, Darden, Berkeley, and NYU.
