Submarine exploration reveals both that hot
water vents through the sea floor at great
depths, but also that it supports diverse life
forms in the complete absence of light.
(A) both that hot water vents through the sea
floor at great depths, but also that it
supports diverse life forms
(B) both hot water venting through the sea
floor at great depths, as well as their
supporting diverse life forms
(C) that the support of diverse life forms at
great depths where hot water vents
through the sea floor
(D) both that hot water vents through the sea
floor at great depths, and that it supports
diverse life forms
(E) that hot water both vents through the sea
floor at great depths, and the support of
diverse life forms

Wht is wrong with C ?

IMO D.

I choose D because it is parallel.

(C) Submarine exploration reveals that the support of diverse life forms at great depths where hot water vents through the sea floor in the complete absence of light.

To me, It does not look like a complete sentence and the meaning is greatly distorted.

agreed on D being the answer

be on the lookout for parallelism when "both" or "and" is mentioned in an SC.

i liked C and D because a "that" is needed, but then both those sentences screw up on parallelism. so between A and D, D maintains that feature.

(B) both hot water venting through the sea

Icorrect idiomatic usage Both X and X
Also awkward construction

(C) that the support of diverse life forms at
great depths where hot water vents
through the sea floor

Correct statement should express 2 diverse suage of hot water such as Hot water vents thru sea floor at great depths & support diverse life forms in absence of light. C fails to convey this 2 distict usage of hot water and also doesnot use correct idiomatic structure both X and Y

Submarine exploration reveals that the support of diverse life forms at
great depths where hot water vents through the sea floor
in the complete absence of light.

Does submarine exploration support diverse life..who supports it is not clear while its clear in E

(D) both that hot water vents through the sea
floor at great depths, and that it supports
diverse life forms

Same issue like B

(E) that hot water both vents through the sea
floor at great depths, and the support of
diverse life forms

Both X and X correct usage and succint as well as epxresses 2 usage of hot water which C doesnt
Wht is wrong with C ?
