Hi folks,
My exam is on Saturday. I have taken a bunch of practice tests:-
MGMAT1 (day 1) - 590 (<40 Quant, <35 Verbal)
MGMAT2 (day 10) - 650 (<40 Quant , 36ish or 37ish Verbal)
GPREP1 (day 15ish) - 660 (Q47, v34)
KAPLAN1 (day 30ish) - 710 ( don't remember the breakdown)
MGMAT3 (day 40- 2 days ago) - 720 (Q48, v40)
GPREP2 (day 41 - yesterday) - 640 (Q47, v33)
Yes Yes, my jaw dropped as well.

Admittedly I have taken two exams in two days as an attempt to build my stamina and I think it may have had an influence in my marks. I also know that MGMAT is generally regarded as being(<- BIG NONO, i know) more difficult than GPREP but if history has anything to go by then my score will be closer to my GPREP scores rather than MGMAT.
I have analyzed my mistakes on both my GPREPs and the results are very interesting. On the GPREP1 verbal, I had a string of 15 questions correct and 6 questions incorrect. On the GPREP2 verbal, I had better time management and did not have to guess on a string of questions. I know its not about the number of correct/wrong, but it still annoys me that I made 17 questions incorrect in GPREP1 (with 6 incorrect in a string) and only 12 questions incorrect in GPREP2 (with no consecutive incorrect answers). I have a gut feeling that the GPREPs define a number of questions as non-countable just like in the real exam and I must have got the large proportion of those correct then the ones which actually count. (hopefully all my bad luck will spill out in GPREP2 and keep all the good luck for the actual)
On the other side, my quant score made me laugh. I have worked really hard on my quant but I don't know what I am doing wrong. The number of mistakes are almost identical to my first test, however, the topics are very different. For example in GPREP1 quant I incorrectly answered a bunch of number properties type questions on GPREP2 quant I murdered all of those babies but got hung out to dry by sneaky Geometry/Coordinate Geometry questions. These were not hard, I can do all of them after the exam without seeing the correct answer. I either made silly mistakes or panicked during the exam. Either way I know what I need to do with my Quant, but I am at a loss with my Verbal.
In regards to my more recent results, I attempted my MGMAT3 and GPREP2 under proper exam conditions(including AWA, 10 min break, ate my cookies/water, as I will on Saturday) and cannot understand the inconsistencies. I admit I was losing focus in my verbal towards the end but the dramatic drop of results of almost 80 points is very concerning.
Sadly I am considering re-scheduling my exam, again.
Anyone have ideas of what I am doing wrong? Any ideas on how to rectify it?
Your comments and opinions are much appreciated.
Cheers,
Sumi
