can i get 680?

i have just started studying for GMAT. i have got a months time and got kaplan 2008 and OG 11th edition.
do u think i can aim for 680? or rather can i get 680?

Of course you can!!!
Rather, you can get 780!!

Protimas, the key is to remain positive, practise hard, working on weak areas, making test strategies, perfecting them and going it right on the G-Day!!!

680 is pretty achievable score. I believe you have potential to achieve higher scores.

Have you taken a diagnostic test? Obviously, it's a lot easier to ger a 680 if you're starting at 650 vs. 350!

Assuming you're starting at a mid-range score such as 550, it's optimistic but not completely unreasonable to improve to 680 in a month. If you study correctly and efficiently, take a few practice tests, and read the tips on the forum, you have a shot.

As for the diagnostic tests, most of the test prep companies offer a free online test, and mba.com (the GMAC) offers two. Here's a link to the free Veritas test - go ahead and take it to discover your starting point.

Thanks a ton for reply. I need more guidance and support from u guys to achieve my target.
i did try the test on the veritas site ... and i scored just 450 i surely have to improve on my verbal.All my RC questions are wrong. Is OG and Kaplan enough.
I think I will have to give a test evry alternate day or so and learn from my mistakes.
I can still aim for 680 .. is it?my test in on 1st week of dec

While practice tests are important, you don't need to take one every other day. The students who improve the most tend to do fewer problems, but spend lots of time analyzing them. This is especially important in verbal. Do all the verbal problems in the OG and truly understand why every right answer is right and every wrong answer is wrong.

Also, start reading any well written material in English that you can find. Books, magazines, newspapers, whatever... just get used to reading a lot!

450 to 680 is tough, but I've seen it happen. Study smart, not hard, and visit the forum frequently!
