MBA for a PhD person

Hi,
I am keen on doing MBA. However, I need some feedback.
Basically, I am a Physics person with PhD in theoretical physics. Now I am interested in doing an MBA.
Could you please give some advice whether my application for MBA programs will get a boost or will be discouraged because of my PhD degree? (assuming that I will have an avg GMAT score).
Coming from an Asian country, my English is not that good, but my math should be good. But again, the math I do now is very different from GMAT Math.
And if I can do MBA, how do I start the preparation for 2009 Fall admission? Am I late for the test?

Dear Roh,

You are probably a little late for fall 2009 entry, but it depends on how quickly you can pull your application together. You need to allow yourself time to prepare for the GMAT, so don't take it before you are ready. In order to make it for 2009 entry though, you will need to take it by the end of December. A PhD will not be an advantage or disadvantage for you; what matters is why you wan tot pursue a MBA and how it fits into your overall career goals.
