Profile Evaluation Please - considering Boston Area Schools

Hey,

Thank you for evaluating my profile, I appreciate the help.

24, male

Undergrad:
major: B.A. - Economics - 3.2
major: B.F.A. - Architecture - 3.2
minor: Art History
*financed 40% of my education

GMAT - 620 (33Q and 41V)

Work Experience:
-Currently I work directly under a real estate developer and have experience with project development from land acquisition through unit sales.

Extracurricular involvements:
-As an undergrad I was president of the 2nd largest organization on campus as well as president of 2 additional organizations. I started my own student group and was selected and worked as a student representative in the accreditation of an academic program.

-I planned and executed campus events to accommodate 700+ people and raised over $30,000 for various organizations.

-I've had art displayed in galleries on campus, and was selected for numerous panels to discuss campus organizations. As well as gave presentations for student orientations.

Awards:
-I was the recipient of 6 awards for leadership and campus involvement, as well as deans list. Membership in an honors society, and two scholarships.

Additional information:
-experience with 5 different computer languages
-conversational Mandarin and Spanish
-Massachusetts Real Estate License
-PSIA certified Ski Instructor

Dear foxelski,

I think you have a shot at your target schools. The difference will be the strength of your application (i.e., essays, rec letters, resume, interview) and your compelling case for why you want a MBA and how it fits into your future career goals. I'm a little concerned by your quantitative score on the GMAT. Depending on whether or not you had any math/quantitative courses in college, it could be a concern for the admissions committee. You might take a college algebra, finite math and/or calculus course to demonstrate your grasp of the material. Additionally, these math classes will be great preparation for your finance and statistics courses in business school.

Thank you for your feedback. I've taken a number of quantitative courses as an undergad which should reassure admissions of my quantitative ability considering my current GMAT score.

Should I consider applying to top 20 school?

You could apply to a top 20, but that would be quite a reach for you with your current profile. It doesn't hurt to apply if you want to see how you fare, but I think your target schools are appropriate and solid options for you.
