Please help me beat the GMAT

My studies are going along smoothly. Here are my practice CATs thus far:

CAT 1: 680 (50Q, 34V)
CAT 2: 690 (49Q, 34V)
CAT 3: 660 (44Q, 38V)
CAT 4: 670 (43Q, 40V)

I am studying using Kaplan's GMAT Premier Online services. All of those practice scores are GMAT Premier Online practice CATs. My scores are definitely solid, but I'm aiming for 700+, so I'm concerned that I'm heading in the wrong direction. My test date is December 6th.

I've already identified geometry questions and timing the quant section as problem areas. I've never finished the quant section w/o randomly guessing at least 4 problems at the end to avoid an unanswered question penalty. This isn't a problem at all w/ verbal. I usually finish verbal w/ anywhere from 15-60 seconds remaining.

Your advice is greatly appreciated. If you need any additional info, just let me know.

From what I have seen in this forum these are score are pretty good (considering its Kaplan which many say are harder than the actaul gmat)

In my perspective all these are relative opinions. It is you who know what concepts you need to tighten up (like u said geometry; time managment problem solving).


As far as guessing goes it inevitable; a majority of us have to guess at some point on gmat (if its a calculated guess then better like eliminating three and picking 1 from the 2 u think righ etc)


Also try giving gmat prep tests (u can download them for free from mba.com after registering). These are the closest to what u will see on GMAT. I have seen expoerts on thsi forum recommend taking gmat prep many times if possible.

You are heading in the right direction. I agree with cramya - take Gprep and Powerprep. There are two practice tests in each of these. Very close to the actual test. If you have problems with Geometry or for that matter, any math topic, I will recommend 4GMAT's e-books. Very good. I used 4GMAT's materials to score over 700.
