kaplan - Scoliosis

Scoliosis, a condition when the spine curves abnormally and throws the body out of line, can cause heart and lung problems as well as physical deformity

a) same
b) an abnormal curvature of the spine that throws the body out of line
c) a condition of the spine curcing abnormally and in which the body is thrown out of line
d) where the body is thrown out of line by an abnormal curvature of the spine
e) a condition of an abnormal curvature of the spine throwing the body out of line

Anybody?

Scoliosis is not an abnormal curvature of the spine rather a condition ........

A, C and E are contenders.

A -> The construction is not parallel

Should be C or E. C seems to be wordy. I choose E.

i was not aware wat scoliosis means,, :wink:

dictionary meaning:

scoliosis:An abnormal lateral curve to the vertebral column

Thus went for B,,,


wud like to know the OA..

B should be correct according to the definition of scoliosis. But i am afraid of this type of question that demands us to know the meaning.

Can a condition cuase problems ??? NO
A disease can, which could be something abnormel :-)

What's the OA? I chose between B and E. I wasn't sure whether Scoliosis had to be classified as a condition.

Until raunekk posted the definition of Scoliosis I was a fan of E. But now it has to be B

OA is 'B'.

I was split between 'B' and 'C' as well.

When you read B option what is "that" referring to.
When I am reading B I feel "that" refers to "spine" and not the "condition".
Can someone plz. clear my doubt.

"That" usually refers to immediate pronoun precedent. Here "that" can refer to spine or curvature. I am not sure how to conclude "that" refers to curvature and not spine
