How to Excel in GMAT Verbal and Essays?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing for the GMAT, and I’m finding the Verbal section and Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) particularly challenging.

For Verbal, I struggle with:

Identifying assumptions in Critical Reasoning questions.
Maintaining accuracy in Sentence Correction under time pressure.
Quickly understanding dense passages in Reading Comprehension.
As for the AWA, I’m unsure how to structure my analysis effectively and identify logical flaws in the given argument.

If you’ve already taken the GMAT or are currently preparing, I’d love to hear your strategies for improving in these areas. Specifically:

How did you approach studying for the Verbal section?
What resources or tools were the most helpful?
Any tips for writing a high-scoring essay?

I’d focus on practicing Critical Reasoning by identifying the conclusion and assumption first. For Reading Comprehension, timed practice helped me improve speed without losing accuracy. For AWA, having a simple essay structure makes it much easier to stay organized.
