A biotechnology student is performing an experiment in which he is trying to count the population of bacteria after every hour. Each bacterium multiplies and becomes 8 times itself in 1 hour. But some bacteria die after every 2 hours. The population after 10 hours from the start of the experiment is what percentage of the initial population?

1) The number of bacteria at the start of the experiment was 1 million
2) After every 2 hours, 1/4th of the bacteria dies
