That's not a good idea--admissions committees will see that you've skipped this section and they may not accept your score.

GMAT NOT JUST TESTS YOUR VERBAL AND QUANTITATIVE ABILITY, IT ALSO TESTS YOUR STAMINA.

IT'S A TEST OF ENDURANCE.
to know whether you perform well under pressure, and endure your aptitute till last question of verbal.

The school where I am planning to get my MBA does take into account what I score on the AWA part of the GMAT. If I score 4.5 or better on the AWA part, then I won't have to take the graduate level writing skills test that is required for all graduate students.

For that reason, I am very interested in doing a good job of practicing writing the two kinds of AWA essays just like what I will have to do on the GMAT.

I understand that the exam tests endurance and stamina.

I am only applying to BYU's Marriott School of Business. Their admission criteria states that the admission committee "does not use the analytical (written) portions of the test in the admission process."

Even if this is what the website claims and an admission officer confirmed the information, I would be better off writing the essays?

Is there any chance that you may end up applying to another school? If there is even a small chance, you should take the essays - because you don't want to have to explain a zero on the AWA to another school.

And I would definitely confirm, in writing, from an admissions official that this school will not care if your AWA score is a zero.
