Solution:

We are given that line J has a y-intercept of 6. If we let m be the slope of line J, then the equation of line J, in slope-intercept form, is:

y = mx + 6

Since (a, b) is a point of line J, we have:

b = ma + 6

b - 6 = ma

(b - 6)/a = m

Answer: E
