Carbon pollution from the burning of fossil fuels has contributed to the warming of the planet, which has melted ice in the Arctic Circle and unearthed caves and waterways that were previously inaccessible due to ice. Scientists researching these areas have found stores of carbon that had been trapped in the permafrost of these caves, and that are now being spread into the atmosphere by bacteria as the permafrost melts.

Here, we need to find the most suitable conclusion to the argument.
Premise:
- Carbon Pollution from the burning of fossil fuel has contributed to the warming of the earth.
- Sources of Carbon are trapped in the permafrost caves, and that is now being spread into the atmosphere by bacteria has the permafrost spreads.

Option A - Incorrect
The information given is not about the rate of the carbon being released into the atmosphere.

Option B - Incorrect
This cannot best conclude the argument because there is no demarcation which can pose more threat between the carbon gotten from burning fossils and the one found in the cave

Option C - Correct
If carbon was also found trapped in the permafrost in caves, it means that the burning of the fossil is not the cause for it.
Also, the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere cannot be determined by the number of fossils burned.

Option D - Incorrect
The argument here is quite informative. It is not looking for preventive measures to stop the burning of fossils.
