GMAT practice tests .. valid scores?

by al910 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 8:15 am
Hey folks,

So I just took practice test 1 from the software available from mba.com. All in all, I got 12 wrong on the quantitative section, and 6 wrong on the verbal. The software says that's a 750 -- and while I know that there isn't any way to convert directly from # wrong to score, doesn't that seem a bit off?

The software specifically says that the scores it gives are not to be considered predictors of actual GMAT scores, but I thought that was just some CYA clause from the lawyers.

If you've got any experience on this, please let me know!!

Thanks,

Al

The score is not determined by the number of questions you answered correct or otherwise, but by the difficulty level at which you were consistently doing well. No one except GMAC knows the actual algorithm used.

GMAT prep is the best available indicator of the scores on the actual one. So congrats, think you are doing great :D
Wish you good luck
