Say the number of hip - hop records is 7 and the number of country - western records is 4. Thus, the total number of records = 4 + 7 = 11.

Thus, 4/11 of the records he plays are country - western.

The correct answer: D

Hope this helps!

The disc jockey plays 4 country- western record for every seven hip-hop record.
Ratio of country- western record to hip-hop record = 4x : 7x
Total records = 4x+7x=11x
Total Country western record = {4x}{11x}
= {4}/{11 }of the Total records
