What is the volume, in cubic feet, of a rectangular room that has length x feet, width y feet, and height z feet?

1) x = 1,200/yz
2) The area of the ceiling of this room is 120 square feet and the area of each of two facing walls of this room is 100 square feet.

The OA is A.

1. Sufficient

2. Not sufficient
xz = 120
xy = yz = 100
Not enough to find xyz as different combinations of x,y,z are possible.

Hence the correct answer is A.

Has anyone another strategic approach to solve this PS question? Regards!

Statement 2 is insufficient not because how you dealt it. xy is not necessarily equal to yz = 100. The statement states that "the area of each of two facing walls of this room is 100 square feet." So, either xy = 100 or yz = 100 or can be both. Thus, we cannot get the unique value of xyz (Volume).
