Profile Evaluation (GMAT 710) - Masters in Management

Hi,

I am planning to apply for Masters in Management course (for 2018) in the following schools:
1. LBS
2. HEC
3. IE
4. ESSEC
5. ESADE

Do I have a good chance of getting into these? My profile is as follows:

GMAT: 710 (Q: 50, V: 37, IR: 7, AWA: 6)

Education:
Undergraduate: B. Tech 2012-16 in CSE from NIT Warangal (CG: 8.81/10)
Certifications from Microsoft (Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Technology Associate: Database Administration Fundamentals

Work Experience:
Software Engineer at Visa Inc (July 2016 - Present)
Intern - Software Development Engineer at Amazon

Interests and Activities:
1. Certified Investor in Indian equities and cryptocurrencies
2. National level Yoga Player
3. Completed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program
4. Elected as Branch Representative in College
5. Passionate solo-traveler

Academic Achievements:
1. Merit Scholarships (twice)
2. Developed travel application for Mozilla Firefox
3. Selected for HackCon'14, National Hacking Contest by Microsoft

Languages: English (fluent), Hindi (native), Punjabi (fluent), Sanskrit (basic)


A few important questions:
1. Should I give GMAT again? I'm capable of getting 730. How better is 730 from 710?
2. Is there any other school (in US or any other location) better than these 5 for MiM?

Consider the following points Sakshet:

- The overall profile looks fair and your NIT pedigree will be definitely useful. It is not clear however if any of your ECs have continued after college?

- For reasons mentioned here, we do not speculate on school selection. That said, you do have most of the usual suspects. A 730 would definitely be a lot more preferred and strongly recommended.

- Better is a relative term. You can start with the list here.

Good to hear from you.
So before I get to your questions, here's one of mine: Why an MiM and not an MBA? I mean right now you are a bit early for an MBA, but in a few more years. Just asking because for an MiM although many candidates do have a year or maybe two of experience, many have less. So I'm wondering what your reasoning is.

For your questions
1. Those 20 points would help. However at this point in time, I'm not sure you have the time to BOTH make all your applications AND redo the GMAT.... so you might want to leave it be.

2. What do you mean by "better"? There are few MiM programs in the US. Ross has an MiM. Duke has the MMS FOB program.... and that's pretty much it for top schools.

I would also question why you are looking at the MiM and not the MBA- give that a bit more thought. You could just continue working for an extra year- retake GMAT and then prepare to be really strong as an applicant for MBA in a year or two.
