IMO E.

stephen has argued that many .......are not product of.............., but are simply random by products of ..................

is the parallel construciton,.....so eliminate A B C.

Now though .......because they enhance reproduction or survival ....is better consturction than .......because of enhancing reproduction or survival

But they is not clear in D. It could refer to traits or products.....
Hence E

there is one problem with D.

"not the products of natural selection,................. " is not parallel to "but are simply random by-products ...............".

hence IMO C.
