Good evening from New Jersey:

I'm curious to see how many people have gone through or are going through a dual-degree program (JD/MBA).

I'm aiming for the dual-degree but my problem is about timing. I plan on taking the LSATs in Sept. 2009 and apply to law school right after that. When should I take my GMATs? How much time am I going to need to study for them? Would the Summer of 2010 be alright so that I can apply in Winter of 2010/2011? I think that falls into the 2nd deadline for most schools...is that horrible? I don't think I can do it sooner than that because if I'm in law school, I'm sure to be bogged down with exciting reading.

For those of you who've already graduated, how are the job prospects? Did the dual degree help you out? Are the salaries huge?

I can only respond to one part of your post. Your timing on the GMAT depends upon how well you do on standardized tests in general and more specifically on your verbal and quantitative skills. You might want to take a practice test to get an idea of how much preparation you will need before taking the actual exam: https://www.veritasprep.com/gmat-prepara ... tice-GMAT/

Generally, it is looked upon unfavorably if you take the actual test more than 3x though it does not sound like you will have time to do that anyway. You can look on the GMAT website for testing sites and dates near you.

Finally, job prospects should look a lot better when you graduate (assuming the economy rebounds) than they do right now. However, you can find a lot of job stats online (school websites, Business Week, etc.)
