Does CFA help in any way?

by Mustang » Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:03 am
Hi Lisa,

Just wanted to know how B-schools look at candidates with CFA. Since I have an IT educational background and non-IT work experience, I was wondering getting a CFA certification might help me move to finance/consulting after an MBA.

Do you think the top schools would look at CFA as a positive feature on my application?

thanks

Dear Mustang,

The CFA can be helpful to demonstrate mastery of skills and knowledge. I'm not sure how much it will help get you to an offer of admission or a job over someone else, but it does show a level of commitment and aptitude on your part.

Regards,
Lisa
