Sorry... Forgot to give the explanation:
A --> Correct. First bold part is just the information which says that every year blah blah happens. Second bold part says that "Someone will run for election" which is a conclusion.
B --> Incorrect. Second part is not the intermediate conclusion. It is the final conclusion.
C --> Incorrect. Where did the practice of journalists come from??? If someone chooses this as an answer, he is thinking too far. Out of scope.
D --> First bolded sentence is not an evidence. It is just a statement/information.
E --> Same as D.
