with my series of LSAT CR's here is another one.
and the explanation to this one was really mind-blowing, so that's why I wanted to share this with you.

I would go with E.

Catering to public sentiment(thorugh honest journalism) leads to profits is what i get from this.

I could be totally off yikes these LSAT ones are quite a handful..

I'll go with D.

There is no other alternative to profit making other than subsidy. No one will subsidize honest journalism.

Seriously I haven't kept tabs but it's definitely way more than 3 when u take all my posts
I made sure I learned from them (atleast I hope) so thanks for providing another oppurtunity.

Right and wrong is the name of the game(hence the adaptive nature of the test) Stacey's golden words repeated " GMAT is like playing a tennis match u win some points and u also loose some points and (my interpretation follows) all we need to look it is, if we are winning the set(quant/Verbal) and more importantly the match(Quant and Verbal)"

I hope I can and I hope everyone here can also!

Keep posting these good questions since we all can/should learn from our mistakes.

Type: Inference Question:

Since this is an inference question, it is obvious that there is no conclusion. Hence the CR Question consists of the Argument (as usual) and Premise (with evidence) only, without any conclusion.

Argument: Criticism that press is a profit-making organization.

Premises 1: Like other enterprises it needs to make money to survive.

Premises 2: Alternative for profit making is subsidy, inviting danger of outside control.

Premises 3: Propagandas are generally subsidized and not honest journalism.

Analysis:

A: This is not inferred. This is already provided in premises.
B: Press does not produce propaganda. No relation.
C: Subsidy is not the only way to make profit. No inference.
D: Press needs to be profit making to produce honest journalism. This is inferred, as subsidy can’t be used.
E: Reverse of above is not inferred as honest journalism may or may not produce profits.
