MBA Admissions in Singapore

Hi,

My profile -

* Undergrad in commerce with a CGPA of 8.9
* 3 years of work ex (with June 2016). Worked for a top company in the Investment Banking Sector.
* 620 GMAT (40 quand / 35 verbal)
* Extra curricular includes tons of volunteering and lots of involvement in competitive sports.

I plan to apply for an MBA at NUS and NTU for the 2016 intake. Could some one please tell me what my chances of admission are?

Hi krishnas,

Although your GMAT score is low, it isn't too off for your target schools.

It's very difficult to predict your chances of admission to your target schools on the basis of information provided. What you did in your organization and quality of that experience is important?

Here I should mention that brand name of your organization alone is not enough to carry you through. This article will help you appreciate this point. Super stats and great brands alone without proper execution in your essays & recommendations are unlikely to mean much. And that's also the reason why some with less stellar stats too get in.

Thanks for responding.

I worked in the operations department. And my work record was exceptional. I have also worked overtime on my admission essays. Hopefully, they are as good as I believe them to be.

With regards to recommendations, could you please advice me how much of a value it holds? I only ask because my company has a "no recommendations in India" policy and it is close to impossible for me to get one.

Because they provide an external, independent view to the admission committee, recommendations indeed are very important.
