GMAT TEST IDENTIFICATION MISHAP

by [email protected] » Tue Apr 05, 2016 3:41 pm
Hello!

I have my registered GMAT test schedule for tomorrow afternoon. I recently checked my test registration and what I would need prior to test taking. I saw that when presenting proper Identification checking in, whatever government issued ID you bring must match EXACTLY with your name that you registered with. My DL says Kimberly but when registering I had Kimber. In registering I did add my middle name and last name was correct.

My concern is if they would still let me take the test even though 2 letters of my name is missing? My whole life I was called Kimber and used Kimber in basically all paperwork (minus DMV work) so it was an automatic function to use Kimber when I registered for the GMAT test. I recently call the GMAT services and they did put in an incident and case form but can't guarantee my name will be changed prior to my test tomorrow. I sent an email to them with the case and incident # with proper identification.

Is missing 2 letters something that will deny me taking my rest? Should I just reschedule to be on the safe side instead of forfeiting the test fee?

Help!

Hi Kimber,

Thanks for sharing, I would have suggested the steps you have taken, as well.

How did it go? Hope you were able to take the exam and do great.

Hope you can share for the benefit of the readers here, who may be able to help others who encounter the same problem in the future.

Wish you all the best with the application process!
