Job Transfers and Admissions

by kris_p_chikin » Wed Feb 24, 2016 4:06 am
Hello everyone, hoping to get input re: my situation and applying to an MBA program. UG in Econ from a good liberal arts college, master's degree, licensed CPA.

I worked in the US for a Big 4 firm in for 1 year after school before transferring to Canada with my firm (Big 4) bc I did not get the H1-B. I have been in Canada a year now. I am currently considering an offer to move back to the US with the firm but I am not sure how that would be viewed by AdComs. I am/was planning on applying R1 this coming fall. How will admissions view moving between offices every 12 months when assessing my candidacy?

Thank you for posting your question.

Moving from one office to another, especially with the same firm does not hurt your candidacy. It could even help by showing more experiences working with different groups. You may highlight the expertise or qualities you have that make you attractive or qualified to work in both countries, or even the different experiences and activities you gain or participate in outside of work.

Hope this helps!
