In OA why not HAVE instead of HAS , because I guess the subject is revenues, which is plural right?

Please explain.

"The rise" is the subject here, so a singular verb is appropriate. "In the revenues" is a prepositional phrase modifying that subject. Generally, if you see SINGULAR NOUN + PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE, the prepositional phrase is simply modifying the noun and so the subject is singular.

"The class of students" = singular
"The box of crayons" = singular

(But, because English is irritatingly complicated, usage guides will grant rare exceptions to this rule. For example, "A large percentage of men work at home." Here "percentage" appears to be singular, but it's "men" that dictates the verb. Again, this is the exception, and is fairly rare.)

Could you please explain how option B is incorrect. I had to rely on my ear to eliminate B.

In option B subject is Revenues , which is plural so that verb has to be plural. So HAVE should be used instead of HAS. Also in option Raising is gerund what I think?
