Experts suggest that, during the course of one's preparation for the GMAT, as much time be spent on brushing up the basic fundamentals as on mastering the advanced concepts to avoid any unexpected surprises in the end.

A) during the course of one's preparation for the GMAT, as much time be spent on brushing up the basic fundamentals as on mastering the advanced concepts to avoid any unexpected surprises in the end

B) during the course of one's preparation for the GMAT, an equal amount of time be spent on brushing up the basic fundamentals as is spent on mastering the advanced concepts to avoid any unexpected surprises in the end

C) one spend as much time on brushing up the basic fundamentals as on mastering the advanced concept to avoid any unexpected surprises in the end, during the course of one's preparation for the GMAT

D) as part of the course of one's preparation for the GMAT, the spent on brushing up the basic fundamentals and the time spent on mastering the advanced concepts be the same to avoid any unexpected surprises in the end

E) while preparing for the GMAT, one spend as much time on brushing up the fundamentals as on mastering the advanced concepts, to avoid any surprises in the end

I was stuck between C & E and selected E based upon below observations

{C} - Surprises are unexepected so saying "unexpected surprises" is redundancy.

Also, "while preparing for GMAT" is better than "during the course of one's preparation for GMAT"
