Hi Kiran,

Many non-finance candidates get an MBA from top programs to transition into investment banking and other related industries.

You do not require a finance background pre-MBA. In fact, many IBs like to hire candidates with pre-MBA industry experience, since you would have previous technical / industry expertise to compliment your finance skills from the MBA.

Whether you can handle IB is a personal choice. While the hours and working enviorn. can be brutal; the pay, experience, prestige and post-IB career opportunites are tremendous.

If you are interested in these fields, I recommend talking to other bankers who can provide more insight into the field.

Best,

NP
