MBA Essay

"Describe a person or event that has had the biggest impact on your life to date."

I am currently brainstorming ideas for this essay. What exactly are admissions looking for with this type of topic?

Is the father route too bland?

A father might be appropriate, but it really depends on your own life experiences. Obviously you would need to describe the person / event, why it has had such an impact, and then how that impact has changed you for now, and going forward. They would be looking for what has influenced you, and how you have been influenced. cheers, Alex

I think the person is less important but the rationale for it is what really matters. Schools are looking for impact here so if your father truly fits the bill here then so be it. But make sure if you are going this route your rationale is clear and not an easy out. This is an opportunity to really give some insight into how you think and what you value so really think through this. I'm sure you will not be the only person who goes this route so make sure your execution stands out here.

Hope this helps!
