I MISSED MY GMAT EXAM!!!!!!

Hey guys, this is my story.
My exam was scheduled for Oct 1st 2009. I was not confident and rescheduled for Oct 25th (or what i thought was the 25th).So today(Oct 21) i take a print out of my exam pass and the date reads Oct 20. (fukin yesterday!!). It then hits me and i feel the ground spinning beneath me as i log on to mba.com to check my appointment activity. And it reads "status no show-absent". OMG!!like WTF!!??? i had studided so hard and got 680 on my Ultimate Practice Test....screw it.

My question - 1)Will i get a score report in the mail? On mba.com ive gone and ticked yes for online score report and report in mail as well.My parents cannot findout what happened. I mean i spent my own salary and i will again. But theyll think im a dumbass if i tell them.

2)How does this affect my admission?

3) Am i a dumbass or has this happened to anyone else in here?

Hey mate.
If it is not for 250$ then you have nothing to worry about.
Last year i scheduled GMAT exam, and missed it because i got really sick. Didn't have time to reschedule exam, so i just never showed up.
So i had scheduled GMAT on 5th of October again, took it, and received score report without any additional information, just one score.
So, if money is not the issue, do not worry.

thanks nikolayz whats done is done but im not gonna sit around crying over 250$. However, the test u missed did u get a score report ?i mean can they issue a score report if u didnt show up? ..

I believe to send your score report, Pearson Vue should at least have you registered to the test in the test-taking day at the test center 30 minutes before the test. So, i think there's just nothing to send you.

hahah.. unfortunately I am a new member of the "dumbass" group

My exam was today but I forgot to take my passport which is required in the US since I'm not a citizen.. so I couldn't take the exam.

Unfortunately I'm ready to get this exam out of the way but I have to wait 24 hours before I can reschedule for the next available appointment. Don't know why they need me to wait 24 hours.

Oh well, an expensive mistake but I won't care as long as I'm still able to get my target score. Couple more days to practice!

In order to receive a score, you have to go through at least one of the sections in the Test, so for a no-show, there will be no score reported.

Hello everyone,

I'm going to miss my GMAT exam this morning - as I feel terribly sick

Above the disappointment to not be able to pass the exam today, I am wondering about the consequences of that.

On the previous post (from 2010), I understand that:
1. The fees of 250$ are forfeited
2. There is no record of your miss exam - so the business schools have no way to know that you just didn't show up
3. Re-booking should be done calling Pearson Vue

Is that still accurate for a 2015-tester?

One additional question - can I rebook in the next 2 weeks? Or do I have to wait 30-days?

The following is from the GMAT handbook:

If you miss your appointment, you may schedule a new
exam without waiting a full 31 days, but you must schedule
by phone and pay the full registration fee.

If you didn't sit for the test, I don't think there would be any mention of your missed appointment in a future score report. So aside from the lost registration fee and a little stress, no real consequences here.

It is true that you dont have to wait 31 days to reschedule (now it's 16 days : https://www.mba.com/africa/the-gmat-blog ... ent=745059)


But in case of a no show, is it counted as an attempt or it doesn't affect the remaining number of tests ??

Hi karim.benjelloun,

If you physically do not show up to take the GMAT, then nothing will appear in your record. You'll still end up paying the $250 fee, but you there won't be a record of the 'event', so you won't have to wait to reschedule your next appointment.
