Idiom usage of LIKE

MGMAT SC book says "Matt drives fast cars LIKE his sister's (=both drive similar cars, OR, less optimally, one of the cars he drives is his sister's)

I cannot really get the meaning of the sentence. Can anybody help or explain why this sentence is correct?

The meaning is that he drives cars similar to his sister's car, which are fast cars.
