Profile Evaluation, please

Completed my second attempt at the GMAT and earned a 720 (Q49, V40).

5.5 years work experience in equity research, multiple promotions

earned CFA charter

limited extra-cirriculars post college due to work schedule/hours & CFA study

3.25 GPA at top 50 college and played two varsity sports

white male from northeastern US

Applying 3rd round to Tuck, HBS, Stanford, Columbia, UVA (in order of preference)

Would welcome any thoughts on my candidacy-- thanks in advance

Why R3? Much tougher chances of getting in than previous rounds. Most of class will have been selected by then.

Try r1 instead.

Based on what you mention there is not much to differentiate you, which is a problem.

Basic things you can do to strengthen app:
-Retake GMAT, aim for above average of schools you are considering - there is still plenty of time if doing r1
-do some extracurriculars, something

I appreciate the thoughts; I realize that I am facing an uphill battle given that it will be R3. I just turned 28 and would like to go this year vs. waiting. Hopefully with a strong app, i can earn a spot...
