entering fall 2015

Hi friends
I am aiming for fall 2015 in us for MBA and masters programs.
I'll be giving my GMAT in later half of february.
I'm a fresher ( no experience).
Help me guide how much score I should be aiming for masters in finance or MBA programs in the best schools of US ... Preferably nyu stern , Colombia and Wharton.
I'm good at maths and verbal I get around 25-30.. Help please

I got 620 on veritas.
I'm aiming for 700 plus.
Please suggest for some good free practice exams, as I'm not taking any coaching ,also some other schools which doesn't require any experience ?

As far as free practice exams go, you'll eventually want to take the free practice exams offered by mba.com: https://www.mba.com/us/the-gmat-exam/pre ... tware.aspx

Beyond that, several companies offer free exams on this site; see GMAT Resources on the right side of the site's home page: https://www.beatthegmat.com/

But more importantly, you'll want to have a selection of books that strengthen all the conceptual areas that the GMAT is testing. What other prep materials, aside from the practice exam, have you been using thus far?

I have been using OG 13 edition.
Quant and verbal books for GMAT ( took from a friend who attended coaching)
GMAT prep ( both the exams).
My quant score generally is 44-49 whereas my verbal is around 24-28.
GMAT exam is on 24th feb.
I would be glad if you could suggest some better ideas to capitalize my verbal.

I'd recommend, at the very least, having one good Sentence Correction book and one good Critical Reasoning book.

As for which test prep company you pick, the most important thing is fit. Take a look at the free material they offer, and if you find it helpful, consider purchasing the corresponding book. If not, keep shopping until you find something that suits your learning style.

Then spend a lot of time with the questions in the Official Guide. Even with the questions you answer correctly, spend some time breaking down why the wrong answer choices are wrong. Pay attention to the traps the writers set. The same patterns will show up again and again. Anything that isn't clear, post in one of the forums here, and multiple experts will break the question down for you.
