Page 169, #121.

Why can't the answer be B? The area of the rectangles (combined) is 20. The area of the entire rectangle is 48. Why wouldn't you reduce 20/48 to eventually get answer choice B instead of D?

Hi Ratsis,

Your math is perfect but you are not answering the question that is ASKED.

The fraction that you calculated is the fraction of the door that is NOT the trim (20/48).

The question asks for the fraction that IS the trim (28/48).
