Hi kamalakarthi,

This SC is based on Modification rules (which I think you recognized), but there's also a "contrast" word that you have to pay attention to. The word "but" appears immediately after the underlined portion of the sentence, so the phrase that comes BEFORE the word "but" must, in some way, contrast the phrase that comes AFTER the word "but."

The answer you chose DID use correct Modification at the beginning, but did not use proper contrast at the end. If you take a good look at the correct answer, you'll see correct Modification at the beginning AND proper contrasting phrases at the end.
