Manhattan GMAT Study Guide!

Hi,

I took the practice GMAT and scored extremely low. I just bought the Manhattan GMAT 8 Book Serious and have 3 months to prepare. I want to make above 700 on my GMAT but with the previous practice score I got, it will take a lot of work...

Can anyone give me a well organized 3 month study guide with the Manhattan GMAT books? I will be able to study 3 hours weekdays and up to 5 hours on weekend. Please help me out!

Hi dinaa08,

You shouldn't be embarrassed by your first practice CAT test score; most people are not happy with that initial performance, but if you were already a GMAT expert, then you wouldn't need to study.

What were your scores (Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores) on that test? Those numbers are important, since they help to define your strengths and weaknesses. Also, are there any specific content areas that you know you'll need to spend some extra time on?

Thank you so much for the response. My scores were: Verbal-16 and Quant-32
I am originally from Europe and moved here not too long ago. The areas I would love to improve on the most would have to be the verbal section.

With those initial Scaled Scores, you are going to have to do a lot of work to hit the 700+ range. Using just books is probably not going to be enough though - you will likely need the consistent, professional guidance of a full GMAT Course. Thankfully, there are plenty of options to choose from. Most GMAT companies offer some type of free resources (practice questions, CATs, trial accounts, etc.) so that you get a "feel" for what the company's products. You should take a little time and investigate all of the options, then pick the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

Hi Rich,

I will take the GMAT before December and see how I do and if I am not satisfied with the score I plan on taking a Princton Review course. I will be using some online free resources as well.
