I am Ajmal Ali Haneef, a computer science engineer with 4 years of experience in the IT services industry.
Age - 25
Work History - Post my graduation I got into Infosys as a software engineer trainee. Am presently working as a Senior Systems Engineer in the company. I have put my papers.
Gre - 315 / Toefl - 119(IBT)
Gender - Male (South Indian Muslim)
Btech - 63.89%(equates to first class)
Good extra-curriculars with a lot of involvement in social responsibility initiatives.
I never applied to a B School , frankly because i got scared away by the costs,
Why MBA?
I want to get into a Product Management profile in the fast-paced technology industry(Right from the moment I watched Steve Jobs key note speech). Product management involves everything from the conception, design , building , testing ,marketing and sales of a product and i believe a few years of experience in such a profile could help me when i am setting up a company of my own(eventually i hope).
I have been involved in a few unsuccessful startups to be frank. Presently I am involved in setting up a small scale energy solutions company for the domestic market in my native Kerala. I believe i need further experience and networks before i dabble further in Entrepreneurship.
Funding is pretty important to me as 35-40 L (65k USD) is what i can spend without breaking the bank. I have shortlisted a few schools but i am finding it hard to analyse if these schools are a fit for the kind of profiles i am looking for.
Texas A&M Mays MBA, University of Texas Austin McCombs, Georgia Scheller , Emory, Indiana University Kelley , Purdue, Ohio State, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, NCSU.
Though the list is all US universities , location is not a limiting factor for me.
It would be helpful if you could give me some perspective. I apologise for the lengthy post.
P.S: I already have an admit from University of Washington for their MS Information Management program. However i believe a technology business focused MBA is more suited to my career goals.
