Are you sure this plan works for people?

With due respect to the makers of the plan, I am having doubts about the effectiveness of it. Its just too much content for even a 4 hour day. Topics are being rushed through and there is so much backlog that gets created. Even on a day I am upto speed, I have forgotten so many nitty gritty details that I had to rush through in the past days.
When I practice the questions now, more than often I am reverting to my pre-prep instincts of solving the question, because I read the question, try to remember the approach- cannot do it, thus I am forced to remember old ways in the interest of time.
Please suggest how may I change what I am clearly doing wrong.

The time it takes to complete each day's activities will vary from person to person, depending on one's foundation skills when starting to prep. It also varies depending on which resource you use (GMAT Prep Now videos or MGMAT books). Also, some days take longer to complete.
If you're having difficulties keeping up, don't worry. You can take longer than a day to complete the activities if you run out of time. Plus, later on in the Guide, much of your time is spent working on weaknesses (i.e., not learning new content).

I should also point out that the home page of the Study guide (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide) notes that the Guide was designed specifically for students who can devote 2-4 hours of study time each day over 60 days.

I'll echo Brent, the time each section takes really depends on your current level. I'm pretty much learning everything again from scratch and it takes me on avg 30mins-1hr for each chapter(I'm using MGMAT), not including the accompanying OG Guide problem sets. Sor far it's taken me 14 real days to reach "Day 10" in the study guide (but honestly, a few of the days I've only put in <2hrs). I should also note that my intention has always been to devote 90 days to prep, so my purposes for using this guide is solely for it's structure and content.

My plan is to continue to plug along and catch up on the lighter days(ex: Day 11 only covers one chapter and just 11 problems in the OG Guide!). And again, as Brent mentioned, the last few weeks are really just devoted to practicing and working on weaknesses.

And to answer your question directly, I do feel as if the 60 Day schedule is working and has helped me so far. I've been thinking about getting my MBA for well over a year now, and have attempted to power through the materials on my own. But after two unsuccessful starts, this is the furthest I've gotten in the materials. I hope I can keep it up!

So my advice would be to just hang in there, do as much as you realistically can each day and use lighter days to catch up on anything you might not fully grasp.
