I haven't given my GMAT yet. I have been developing Software solutions for 3 years.

I am planning to move into marketing.

Well, you can work it both ways. you can either adjust your goals to your reality, or if you really really want to do marketing, adjust your reality to your goals (the better option, but maybe not the easier one). Basically, yes! Look for marketing positions already. First, if you know that this is what you want to do, no need for you to wait for an MBA to "solve" that problem for you. Better to simply get yourself started. Plus if you already have marketing experience BEFORE your MBA, then it will be easier for you to find your target post after.

Secondly, it might diversify your profile too. As you know, software developers make up the most common Indian profile. so if you come from the marketing side, you might be a bit more unique.
